RAGE IT OUT

Morning rage, boring but seemingly rich in writings--pointless. One with such upsetting tone, short body, ugly face, deformed teeth--though tried to fix it but still deformed, the gum, such kiss ass, she laughs when even the unfunniest jokes arrived. Another one, arbitrarily, a person with such trait, so easy for her, then the other one, a foolish man, very foolish, I don't know if it's a pure stupidity or just too lazy to learn. I don't understand people.  Some breathing living beings tend to kick and demean whatever I initiate to do, I tried my best. Power tripping, carelessness, racism, prejudices. Morning rage again. Weaponized incompetence, dependent, childish.  I read and try to calm myself, ease the pain of being offended, because as a human, with such complex social hierarchy and varieties--I need to realize that I can't please everyone.  Tickling fingers and crackle sounds, soft skin hit on the backlighted buttons, like a good ASMR. Eyes get strained for giving...

Interpreting The Head from Cursed Bunny by Bora Chung

I’ll be ending this post by applying the formulation of 4Ps (purpose, preview, prior-knowledge and predict) to complete the pre-reading steps. I haven’t finished the whole book but I wrapped up the first chapter quick. I was really interested by the very first page, and I think it’s very important for an author to grab the attention of reader within the first few paragraphs. I was reading it on my bed with my sleeping husband by my side, while I inhale in and out my taro-tasted vape to replace a coffee while I read. Because I am a FOMO, I love to see booktok, a trend emerging from tiktok for fellow book readers, and thanks to booktok—I found this book. The first page was very intriguing for me, I loved how it helps to make the story even more intense without having to go all the way hundreds of pages to get to the climax. Exactly the first page was the climax then it slows down a bit but very slowly.  At the end of this chapter titled “The Head”, I tried to explore my prior knowled...

My Fictions : Observer = MDCCXC Part 1

Orangesmile.com, Devonshire, England I hate morning so much, not that I dont feel grateful how I am still breathing and waking up healthily, I just hate how I have to wake up early, take a shower–It is not cold at least, then prepare my lunch. However, I can only do this few times a week, maybe 3 or 4 times.  I am an observer. To fill in the storylines within the game data, I am still filling in more gossips for Driviewing, a high-selling cloud-based game that takes no storage at all. Thanks to our huge donors for providing the massive, almost unlimited physical storage.  During those times of work from office around 3 times a week, I need to present and test the games in real-time, my favorite timeline to set up in Driviewing is in the 1790s, the Gregorian era to be specifically–I have embedded a story of Castria Lepolle, an equestrian woman with her dog and cat living in South West England specifically in Devonshire. She rents a stone cottage which she intends to buy soon fr...

My Fictions : Childhood Fever

Fig. 1. Henri Edmond-Cross, Before The Storm, The Bather, painting, 1856 Shivering, cold sweat, I feel so dead, why am I even still here and breathing? all I could hear is my mom's sobs, probably my dad staring dead at me. For days, months and now years, I could hear but I can't move a thing, but I know for sure every night I am always shivering, it feels awful yet so warm, but my cold sweats seem to ruin it all. Sometimes I can hear a very familiar heavy breaths around me, I can't feel anything but I can hear it, at night when I started to shiver, the heavy breaths would stop and I would be able to continue to sleep.       The last memory of me actually seeing things was few years ago, I have lost counts, but I was 15, my long hair was reaching my waist but it was so hard to maintain, I've been convincing my mom to cut it but my family was so against it. As a way to protest, I never tie my hair, so people around will feel bothered so much and those words "jus...

My Dreams : Red, Crucifixion and Fire

Fig. 1. Henri-Edmond Cross, " Beach at Cabasson ", painting, 1892 I hate having dreams, unless they're good ones of course. Most of the times, it is just abstract and nightmares, and if I'm that superstitious, I would say, some things may easily communicate with me through the dreams. If I'm also that believer to a science, I would say, my daily activities have been too overwhelming, my brain could not stop working even when I'm sleeping (it is a fact indeed). Enough blabbering, my good copings for years have been writing, lots of writing, mostly fiction, but right now I want to write something that has happened within my head while I was unconscious. I need to give context of course, I have been working non stop for the last few months, it is my second job since before I've had my bachelor graduation. This time, involves documents and lots of relearning that I have to do with the 9th edition of the MLA citation style, the media literacy, and academic inte...

Ongoing Judging Book (Cover, Prereads until Review) : The Nightmare Room Camp Nowhere by R.L. Stine

Before I start, this is my first post about prereading until review, which means this post is an ongoing process that may take months to finish. We need to align our mutual understanding of "preread". The word "preread" in this context refers to informal resource specifically novels (fiction books for upper primary level of students until elder). From what I've gathered, preread means skimming the whole main points of the book, not the story, could be the title, cover, chapters and allow the reader to predict what kind of story or whether they would take the time to read it or not. The previous definition of preread is a combination of Richard Nordquist 's (2019) explanation of what a preread is and my point of view as a reader and how I'm gonna write down the preread of the novel I'm going to talk about in this post. So this is not an academic prereading, one that I must emphasize to let no further misunderstanding or disappointment from fellow read...

Book Review : Norwegian Wood : a complicated romance with so many twists and trauma

Norwegian wood, one of the infamous books by the author Haruki Murakami, I never heard of it until my friend mentioned this and how she got the book from her former acquaintance who ghosted her, which is an interesting backstory on how she got it then how I got it from her, of course I have to return the book to her. This book was originally published in 1987, and it tells about a young man recalling his youth life back in the 80s as a high school student and as a college student mostly, showed how wild his life was but also lots of troubles that lurked him slowly until he's all grown up. What interest me at first was to be honest, the explicit description of the sexual acts, it was even more specific and surprising by the end. I have to differentiate what an essay and book review, and not to do an essay accidentally on this. Note that this book review will always be biased because it came from a normal book reader, not an expert in such literature.  I have told you the first thing...

Book Review : The Dreadful Revenge of Ernest Gallen : a confusing way to question whether certain murders are either justified or not

Author : James Lincoln Collier Year : 2008 It started with something intriguing taking from paranormal's perspective and as usual, an addition of a child's point of view is a nice way to enlighten things, it has comedic essence and I did blurt out some laughs from few sentences that this protagonist (yewgene) said and his friends too, I could imagine things clearly in this book. The ending of it however.. feels sad but in a good way, but not exactly finished.  "Gene Richards is being haunted by a voice from the past and gene does not like what it is saying gene tries to ignore it but it will not go away until it gets his revenge" Taking the timing background from the depression era is interesting as I haven't read any fictions related to that era, so it's good to know about how it went back then even though this was written in the 21st century but I could say that the author, Collier has elaborated a really detailed way about the town of Magnolia, filled wit...

Book Review : A Stranger's Love : a tricky family takeover and a fast blooming lovebirds filled with new perspective to look through dark rumors

Low-class lass who is a runaway, saved by a horseriding gentleman from family with prosperity, typical one you'd hear, but what if I say when its whole main complication is not even related to that? when the love story itself is just a sugar to support the main thing, for us to look further into anything without judging by the first look/hearing from rumor in this case.  Title : A Stranger's Love Author : Valerie Holmes Year : 2008 Collation : 180 pages It might sound like a typical period love story but honestly I wouldn't mind, but I love how this story ends, it reaches around 80s pages for you to get to the exciting part, which means it is right in the middle of the story. What's interesting after I'm reading this is how I had to clarify things from previous pages again to awaken myself about how the problem begin, with such satisfying ending, I didn't even expect the end to be so .. happy. I haven't read Holmes' other books but I am thrilled to read ...

Book Review : The Pricker Boy : childhood thrill challenged by a mental disturbance

Deeper than what I would've thought, from the subjects of this book, besides horror story, it has interpersonal relationship and emotional problems, so, I had wondered first, maybe this isn't just about some ghost story, or according to the synopsis-a childhood boogeyman coming to life and not just some myth anymore, there definitely something deep about friendship and how this book would try to make us attached with its character and its relationship. Title : The Pricker Boy Author : Reade Scott Whinnem Year : 2009 Collation : 296 pages Childhood horror story is always so interesting, it was fun to listen to when we were kids and life was simpler, if you were born into a pretty privileged family then all you gotta do during your childhood is to play with your friends or looking out for your younger sibling if you have one. At first, this story started out as a simple childhood flashbacks, lots of flashback as the narrator overcomes his fear towards his nightmares. He mentione...
